Hotel Orfila is an authentic luxury hotel in the heart of Madrid.

The Roles:

Reception Trainee

  • Reporting to management and performing administrative tasks.
  • Organize the arrival of incoming guests, as well as celebrate birthdays anniversaries and honeymoons.
  • Maximise room occupancy and use upselling techniques to promote the hotel's services and facilities.
  • Fully understand all hotel room categories, room rates, packages, and promotions.
  • Check in and check out guests.
  • Anticipate guest needs; respond to guest enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the accurate and efficient operation of the front desk.
  • Answer telephone calls, as well as screen and transfer calls.
  • Schedule and confirm reservations, meetings and events.
  • Welcome and assist guests in a professional manner.
  • Responding to customer enquiries and handling mail.
  • Provide general information about the room, hotel facilities and assist with restaurant reservations.

Kitchen Trainee

Responsible for preparing, cooking and maintaining the kitchen while working under the direction of the Chefs. Stock supplies, cook food according to instructions.

  • Follow orders from the Chefs on the preparation of daily and special orders.
  • Prepare ingredients such as meats and vegetables to be used for food preparation purposes.
  • Make fresh ingredients available on a daily basis.
  • Cutting, slicing and shredding vegetables and fruits and storing them properly.

  • Greet guests with a smile and use the guest's name when known.
  • Prepare and set up the restaurant before the meal period.
  • Serve food and beverages to the guest at the appropriate temperature, as well as the presentation of the dishes.
  • Ensure that the serving cabinet in each section is clean - replenish all necessary supplies.
  • Taking orders and answering guest queries whenever possible.
  • Fold napkins, ensure cutlery is clean and ready to be placed on the table.
  • Offer beverage menu and wine menu with certain suggestions and recommendations.

Events Trainee

  • Design, plan and execute corporate events, brand activations, weddings and celebrations.
  • Defining objectives and estimating the necessary resources.
  • Integral monitoring of the project from its initial stage to post-completion.
  • Event planning; create a calendar of events and communicate it to involve all departments.
  • Prepare necessary budgets.

Assistant Manager Trainee

  • Collaborate with the hotel manager in the coordination of daily operations.
  • Identify operational challenges and work as a team to find efficient and effective solutions.
  • Facilitate smooth communication between the different departments of the hotel to ensure an exceptional and high quality guest experience.
  • Provide warm and professional service to guests, answer questions, resolve issues and ensure their needs are effectively addressed.
  • Assist in the supervision and direction of the staff team.

  • Collect relevant data and assist in the preparation of reports to evaluate hotel performance and propose improvements.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as document preparation, invoicing and follow-up.

Accounting Trainee

  • Perform accounting tasks involving compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data.
  • You will be responsible for: accounting of fixed assets or inventories, and preparation of balance sheets or financial statements.
  • Perform general accounting activities.
  • Apply accounting techniques.
  • Specific aspects of the job content will vary from preparation of journal entries to verification of journal entries.
